Philosophy of Learning English through Building Bricks

Innovative Way of Arousing Students’ Interest in Learning English

It is a well-known fact that learning English is a headache to most students. Our students are no exception. In order to motivate our students to learn English in an interesting and creative way during our extension lessons, the proposal of “Learning English through Building Bricks" was put forward and approved by the Project WeCan 2 Funding Scheme.

Our students are given a task of using bricks to build the architectural buildings along the Victoria Harbour within two years. During this process, the following generic skills can be further developed:

  • Collaboration Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Creativity
  • Critical Thinking Skills
  • Information Technology Skills
  • Numeracy Skills
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Self Management Skills
